FEES 220 € ("early-bird" registration by April 9th,2010) 275 € ( if registration after April 9th, 2010) Our physical and energetic centre of gravity lies deep with us. It acts like the hub of a wheel facilitating movement in all directions, while providing a stable base to move from. The connection from the centre outwards, and from the periphery of the body inwards is at the heart of every yoga posture, forming the basis for the free movement of breath and prana throughout the body.
This workshop will explore our relationship to our centre and how to integrate the body parts through this central hub. We will examine what happens when we learn to establish a firm yet mobile core, and how the breath is key to creating this. As we connect to our centre, we can experience ourselves being moved from the inside out. Our asana practice begins to evolve effortlessly, and even complex movements are instinctively understood.
During the workshop, we will explore standing, supine, prone and seated poses gradually integrating more complex movements and sequences.
Radiating offers an implicit sense of connection between body parts, a clear sense of democratic support, and a truly relaxed way of being in yoga. It creates lightness and authentic ease in movement and liberates the free-flow of both breath and energy.
This is the second of Donna Farhi’s Seven Moving Principals and will build on the Christine Howitt’s workshop from October 2009. It is not obligatory to have attended Christine’s workshop however to participate.
